Women's History Month: 5:8 Ballet

Ballet Embody and Ballet 5:8, based in Baltimore, Maryland, are transcending the bounds of mere performance. In honor of Women’s History Month, these studios are actively trying to fix the disparity between male and female choreographers in the industry. Recent data reveals that just under 23 percent of new ballet pieces are choreographed by women. In response, Ballet Embody is pushing for more works created by female choreographers. Watch here.
