OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Dance is a universal language and yet still unique to every culture.
Dance is the physical expression of deeply held emotions, experiences, and spirituality. It can convey feelings and insights that words and other forms of art cannot capture. Without words, dance can both capture and express the entire range and depth of human emotions and experience.
For these reasons, dance has been called a "universal language" and the "language of the soul".
Yet dance also expresses qualities unique to particular cultures. Flamenco in Spain, Kabuki in Japan, Dragon dances in China and Zulu dance in Africa, provide just a few examples of the hundreds of dance forms that are unique to their cultures. Unlike languages, however, any person anywhere in the world can understand and appreciate any of the hundreds of different dance forms around the world.
And all of these dances continue to evolve and interact with each other to create dynamic new forms of expression.
Dance Rhythm has been created to recognize and capture both the universality and unlimited variety of the dance world. Our goal is to create a single location for every member of the dance community to connect and share their passion for the beauty, diversity, and universality of dance.
We hope to attract a large and growing community of dance professionals, enthusiasts, and fans. We also hope our entire readership will contribute their news and ideas to our website and reporting.
Dance is a universal language.
It needs a universal meeting place.
