Rhythm Series: Stay on the Beat with Simeon Pollydore

Here at Dance Rhythm we are always looking for ways to bring the dance community together through the sharing of stories. Starting this month, we are bringing you a new series of interviews with people that help make the dance community a vibrant space.

We're so excited that our very first interview is with Simeon Pollydore. Simeon is a New York-based dancer, choreographer, actor, and performer. Born and raised in Guyana, he grew up surrounded by African and Caribbean cultural dance, as well as commercial dance styles. After moving to New York, he was introduced to concert dance styles such as modern, jazz, contemporary, and ballet. He attended Queensborough Community College, where he studied Dance and Theatre, honing his skills and building a community of dancers with whom he still bonds and performs today. Currently, he is working on That Girl, an artistic project featuring a dance concept series, and is also choreographing for Club NYC’s upcoming Black History Showcase.
