Giving Tuesday is more than just a day; it’s a movement to make a difference. This year, let’s join hands—or better yet, join feet—and support nonprofits that help aspiring dancers turn their dreams into reality.
By giving back, you’re not just supporting dance programs—you’re helping shape the future of dance and empowering young artists to take center stage in their own lives.
Let’s twirl into action together this Giving Tuesday and make an impact!
The Joy Womack Ballet Foundation (JWBF) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering exceptionally talented young dancers from around the world by providing financial assistance, scholarships, and mentorship to help them achieve their dreams. Recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization, JWBF works to remove barriers for aspiring artists, ensuring that economic constraints do not limit their potential to excel in the world of ballet and dance.
The Misty Copeland Foundation, founded in 2021, aims to provide dance opportunities for children in under-resourced communities, promote diversity and inclusion in ballet, and advance social justice through arts activism. As a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit, it supports its mission through donations, particularly for BE BOLD, its innovative afterschool ballet program.
Since 1974, Ballet Tech has introduced over 947,000 NYC public school children to the joy of dance, offering rigorous, tuition-free training to nurture their talents. Through a public-private partnership with the NYC Department of Education, students in grades 4-8 receive a world-class dance and academic education under one roof, reflecting Ballet Tech's commitment to diversity, creativity, and excellence.
A Step Beyond provides underserved youth in Escondido, CA, with dance education, academic support, and family services through a holistic, 10-year program that extends into college and beyond. By using dance as a form of emotional expression, the program empowers students—many of whom become the first in their families to attend college—and encourages alumni to give back to their communities.
Brown Girls Do Ballet, a nonprofit under Brown Girls Do., Inc., works
to increase diversity in the arts by supporting underrepresented
populations in ballet. Founded by TaKiyah Wallace, the organization
provides resources, scholarships, mentorship, and community programs to empower young girls and address the lack of cultural diversity in
ballet.
Donate 2 Dance, a nonprofit founded by teen sisters Ava and Sophia Paley in New York City, provides dance shoes, costumes, and dancewear to studios serving dancers in need. What began as a local donation bin at Shuffles Broadway Tap and Musical Theatre School has grown into an international effort, supporting over 30,000 dancers to date.
